Jaipur, May 12: The NEET UG exam held on May 3 has been canceled due to a paper leak and irregularities. The investigation has been handed over to the CBI. Students residing in Kota expressed their disappointment in an interview, stating that the cancellation has severely affected their morale.
Arun Chaturvedi, the Chairman of the Rajasthan State Finance Commission in Bikaner, termed the NEET paper leak unfortunate. He mentioned that Prime Minister Modi has directed the CBI to investigate the matter under a zero-tolerance policy. Strict action will be taken against those who jeopardize students’ futures.
Jiya, a student preparing in Kota, said, “The paper leak has ruined my hard work. I studied day and night for two years. Now, retaking the exam in a month is a significant challenge. Even if I take the exam again, I may not achieve a good result.”
Student Mohammad Ahran remarked, “The paper leak will not affect those responsible, but it will significantly impact the 20-22 lakh students taking the exam. Retaking the exam will put immense pressure on us.”
Another student in Kota noted, “Papers have been leaking repeatedly. This happened in 2024 as well. This time, the paper was so easy that it could have ensured college admissions, but now that dream is shattered. We no longer trust the National Testing Agency.”
A female student preparing in Kota added, “If the exam is rescheduled, it will be very difficult to regain our momentum. We know what the atmosphere is like during that time. So many tests, papers, and practice sessions develop a certain level of confidence.”
In Dholpur, students expressed their disappointment over the cancellation, stating that years of preparation have been affected. One student, Rishabh, said the decision was a significant blow. Khushi Tomar, a student studying in Sikar for the past year, mentioned that the cancellation has impacted their morale. The government should take this issue seriously, as it affects the futures of millions of candidates.
A parent commented on the exam cancellation, “We don’t even know how to encourage our children; this is very wrong. Action should be taken against the culprits. It’s particularly unfortunate for those who scored well. Retaking the exam so soon will be a major challenge.”
