Jodhpur, September 9 (Daily Kiran) : The Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) have kicked off a joint air exercise named ‘Veer Guardian 2026’ in Jodhpur, starting September 9 and running until September 22. This initiative aims to strengthen defense cooperation between India and Japan.
The participation of Japan’s F-2 fighter jets adds significant value to this exercise. During the event, air warriors from both nations will gain insights into each other’s operational methodologies while enhancing coordination during joint missions. This marks the second edition of the ‘Veer Guardian’ exercise. A contingent from the Japanese Air Force has already arrived in Jodhpur to take part.
Two C-2 transport aircraft from the JASDF have landed at Jodhpur Air Force Station, marking the start of their involvement in the exercise. According to the IAF, ‘Veer Guardian 2026’ will feature various aerial operations and operational activities conducted by both air forces. The primary goal is to improve operational synergy, combat capabilities, and mutual understanding between the two forces.
In the coming days, the skies over Jodhpur will witness activities from advanced fighter jets of both nations. The Japanese F-2s will engage in joint aerial maneuvers alongside Indian fighter aircraft. This exercise will provide pilots and air force personnel with opportunities to collaborate under diverse operational scenarios.
