Kolkata, 1 September (Kiran News): Around 350 candidates declared ineligible by the School Service Commission (SSC) have filed a petition in the Calcutta High Court on Monday, seeking permission to sit for the upcoming recruitment exams. The petitioners argue that the SSC published the disqualified list without following proper procedures and rules, and that excluding them from the recruitment process is unjust. The Calcutta High Court has admitted their petition, and the matter is likely to be heard by Justice Soumen Bhattacharya’s bench on Tuesday.

The well-known SSC scam in West Bengal has once again reached the court. After the SSC released a list of so-called ‘tainted’ teachers on Saturday, a large group of disqualified candidates is now seeking permission to appear in the new recruitment exams. The main demand of the petitioners is to be allowed to sit for the written exams scheduled on 7 and 14 September. They argue that simply releasing a ‘tainted’ list is not enough; there must also be transparency and solid reasons behind the decisions.
Legal experts believe that if the court takes the petitioners’ arguments seriously, it could have a significant impact on the SSC’s current recruitment process.
