NDMC Vice Chairman Leads Tree Plantation Drive in North West Motibagh

New Delhi, June 8: Kuljeet Singh Chahal, Vice Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), participated in a tree plantation event on Sunday at the community center organized by the central government RWA under the campaign “One Tree in the Name of Mother” in North West Motibagh.

Local residents and representatives from resident welfare associations attended, including MS Haq, Secretary of RWA Type-Two, and member Ritesh MK, along with RN Prasad, President of RWA Type-Four, Secretary Madhulika, and member Saurabh Agarwal. NDMC officials and staff also enthusiastically joined the event.

Participants planted trees in honor of their mothers, sending a powerful message of environmental protection, gratitude, and social responsibility.

Before the plantation drive, Chahal engaged with local residents and RWA representatives, listening to their concerns regarding civic amenities and development issues. Topics discussed included tree trimming, installation and maintenance of electric poles, air conditioning at the community center, park upkeep, demand for badminton courts, and increasing the number of sanitation workers.

Taking immediate note of these issues, Chahal instructed the relevant NDMC departments to take necessary actions and ensure that solutions are provided within a month wherever possible.

Addressing the gathering, Chahal stated that “One Tree in the Name of Mother” is not just a tree plantation program; it is a public movement for environmental awareness. By planting a tree in honor of our mothers, we not only pay tribute to them but also lay the foundation for a healthy and green future for generations to come.

He mentioned that NDMC conducts tree plantation programs every Sunday throughout the year at various locations within the council area.

Chahal further emphasized that the gardening, health, civil engineering, road, water supply, drainage, and electrical departments are working in coordination to ensure proper care and protection of the planted trees.

He urged citizens to take personal responsibility for nurturing the plants and to strengthen this environmental campaign through active public participation.
