Patna, April 19: Following the failure of the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha, women leaders from the NDA launched a fierce attack on the opposition. They asserted that the opposition’s double standards have been exposed, and the women of this nation will never forgive them.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Darshana Singh stated that women in India are making their mark as athletes, scientists, doctors, soldiers, and pilots across various fields. She quoted Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, who said that the progress of any society can be measured by the status of its women. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken numerous steps towards empowering women. While women will undoubtedly receive their rights, the opposition’s behavior in Parliament, which led to the bill’s failure, will not be forgiven by the women of this country.
She emphasized that the BJP government, along with the Dalit community, is fully committed to granting rights to women. The disrespect shown by Congress and other forces towards women will never be forgotten. Women will not forgive these actions.
Darshana Singh further claimed that the true face of the opposition has been revealed. They have never wanted women to receive their rights. For the past three decades, the opposition has continuously delayed the Women’s Reservation Bill for various reasons.
Former Bihar minister Leshi Singh added that the opposition’s duplicity has been exposed. Their own family members, whether from Congress or RJD, have reached the Lok Sabha, but poor and marginalized women in villages, including those from Dalit, tribal, and backward communities, have been denied opportunities.
Other NDA women leaders echoed these sentiments, accusing the opposition of politicizing women’s issues. They expressed their support for the efforts made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government towards women’s empowerment.
