NDA Leaders Criticize Mamata Banerjee, Claiming She is Seeking Sympathy Amid Declining Support

New Delhi, March 30: Leaders from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have launched a scathing critique of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. They assert that her party’s support is dwindling, prompting her to seek sympathy ahead of the elections.

BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal stated that the public has witnessed the government’s performance in West Bengal over the past five years. He emphasized that the people are now yearning for change, indicating that Banerjee’s grip on power is weakening.

JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar raised concerns, questioning what will happen to the common people if a chief minister fosters an atmosphere of fear. He referenced former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who, despite facing threats, never showed fear and continued to work for the nation.

BJP MP Damodar Agrawal accused leaders of resorting to emotional issues when the government fails to perform effectively. He believes the public has already decided on change, which is why such statements are being made.

Similarly, BJP MP Kamaljeet Sahrawat remarked that Banerjee raises various issues in every election, but this time her efforts will not succeed.

Uttar Pradesh Minister Anil Rajbhar also criticized Banerjee, claiming she is unnecessarily stirring controversy. He pointed out that those who have troubled the public for a long time are now speaking of respect.

Earlier, Mamata Banerjee responded sharply to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks about her using the “victim card,” referencing her injury during the 2021 assembly elections. She hinted at potential threats to her life.

At a rally in Manbazar, Purulia, Banerjee criticized Shah, questioning, “Who are you to present a charge sheet? The real charge sheet should be against you.”

Amit Shah had previously accused Banerjee of engaging in victim card politics, noting her inconsistent claims of injury and illness, as well as her criticism of the Election Commission. According to him, the people of Bengal have come to understand her tactics.
