New Delhi, March 30: The Dwarka South Police Station team has successfully apprehended three suspects, including a minor, in connection with a burglary case. They also achieved a 100% recovery of the stolen items.
On March 16, the Dwarka South Police received a PCR call regarding a burglary at a residence in Sector 7. The complainant reported that an iron window was broken, allowing entry into the home where silver coins, a statue of Lord Ganesha, a statue of Radha-Krishna, a Mont Blanc pen worth ₹75,000, copper wires, seven expensive watches, and other valuables were stolen. Based on the complainant’s statement, a case was registered at Dwarka South Police Station, and an investigation commenced.
To crack this case, a dedicated team was formed under the supervision of Inspector Rajesh Kumar Sah, the SHO of Dwarka South, and ACP Kishore Kumar Rewala. The team included ASI Mahavir, HC Praveen Yadav, HC Manoj, HC Surendra, HC Gaje Singh, HC Sudhir, and Constable Tushar.
The police team arrived at the scene and began their search. They reviewed over 100 CCTV cameras and activated local informants. Both technical and manual intelligence was gathered. Eventually, HC Manoj received a tip-off indicating that the suspects were hiding in the Sector 7 area of Dwarka. The team quickly apprehended all three suspects in a park in Sector 7, one of whom was a minor. A member of the Juvenile Justice Board (JWB) was called to the scene.
All stolen items, including silver coins, the Lord Ganesha statue, the Radha-Krishna statue, a brass statue of Nandi (approximately 30 kilograms), a Mont Blanc pen, copper utensils, expensive watches, and several other silver and brass items, were recovered from the suspects. The complainant was present to identify their belongings.
During interrogation, the suspects revealed their addiction to drugs, which motivated them to plan the theft of copper and brass items. Living in nearby areas, they were aware that valuable silver, copper, and brass items could be found in this locality. They executed their plan in a systematic manner on the night of March 15-16, breaking into the house and fleeing with the valuables.
The arrested suspects were identified as Sonu Mishra (20 years), Amarjeet Sah (31 years), and a minor.
