Key Discussion on Eradicating Naxalism in Lok Sabha Today

New Delhi, March 30: A significant discussion on eradicating Naxalism is set to take place in the Lok Sabha today. The debate will commence in the afternoon and is expected to be concise. Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde will initiate the discussion, followed by a detailed address from Union Home Minister Amit Shah later in the evening. BJP MP Mahesh Kashyap from Bastar will also share his insights during this session.

The Bastar region is larger in area than the state of Kerala. There is a noticeable difference between its past and present. While Naxalism once had a stronghold here, the situation is changing. Continuous efforts from security forces and robust government policies are ushering in a new wave of development in Bastar.

Due to Naxalite attacks, an entire generation in this region has suffered immensely. Violence, fear, and backwardness were commonplace in villages. However, in recent years, the Modi government’s persistent efforts have enhanced security in Naxal-affected areas. Roads have been constructed, schools and hospitals have opened, and initiatives to connect local residents with the mainstream have accelerated.

Security personnel are consistently risking their lives to combat this challenge. Their sacrifices, combined with the government’s dual strategy of security and development, are weakening Naxalism. The dream of a ‘Naxal-free India’ is rapidly becoming a reality.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has already made it clear that Naxalism will be eradicated from the entire country by March 2026. The goal is to transform Bastar into the most developed tribal area in the country.

Today’s Lok Sabha discussion is a crucial step in this direction. It will focus on the changes occurring in Naxal-affected regions, the role of security forces, and future plans. The government believes that balanced efforts in development and security can make these areas completely peaceful and prosperous.

This discussion will not only strengthen the ongoing campaign against Naxalism in Parliament but also across the nation.
