Mumbai, March 27: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has asserted that a significant change is on the horizon in the southern states. He stated, “I believe our government can emerge in Tamil Nadu. The film actor Vijay has also formed his political party, which is likely to attract a substantial number of votes, directly benefiting the NDA.”
In a conversation in Mumbai, Athawale mentioned that his party is contesting elections in two to three states, including Tamil Nadu, Assam, and Kerala. He added that in West Bengal and Puducherry, his party is supporting the BJP. “We will form a government in Assam and Puducherry,” he noted.
Discussing the West Bengal assembly elections, he expressed confidence that the BJP would secure power. “In 2021, the BJP was expected to win, but Mamata Banerjee received significant sympathy at that time. However, this time, the BJP will come to power,” he emphasized.
Athawale also highlighted that the people of Kerala are yearning for change. “Governments have alternated between Congress and Communist leadership, but this time, there is a possibility of a government led by PM Modi in Kerala as well. We are actively engaging with the public to discuss how we can establish our government in all five states,” he explained.
Touching on the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, he remarked that the world is currently facing a state of war, whether it be in Russia-Ukraine or Middle Eastern countries, leading to widespread recession and inflation. “However, India’s situation is much stronger and better compared to other nations. Under PM Modi’s leadership, we have managed our economy and internal security so effectively that the world now looks to India with hope. Today, India stands firm as a stable nation,” he stated.
He further criticized the opposition, claiming they have run out of issues to address, leading to their agitation. “To instill fear among the public, they are spreading false rumors about potential lockdowns and shortages of goods. The reality is that there is no situation for a lockdown in the country, nor is there a shortage of any items. This is merely a political conspiracy to defame the government, but the public need not fear any such rumors as our government stands with you,” he reassured.
Athawale highlighted the significance of reducing excise duty on petrol and diesel, stating, “This is no small feat. While wars are ongoing and crude oil prices soar, PM Modi has not left his people alone. This is true democracy and the strength of our government.”
