New Delhi, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the unanimous approval of the New Delhi Declaration during the 18th BRICS Summit held in New Delhi. The declaration was adopted without any objections from member nations. Additionally, Modi unveiled two commemorative stamps marking the 20th anniversary of the BRICS group.
While presenting the New Delhi Declaration, Modi stated, “No member has raised any objections. The New Delhi Declaration-2026 is hereby approved unanimously.”
In his closing remarks, Modi emphasized the importance of including the Global South in future technological advancements and research. He noted that addressing the gap between decisions and their outcomes requires collective action and collaboration. The New Delhi Declaration serves as a clear direction for the group’s commitment.
Modi acknowledged that while member nations may have differing views, their dedication to BRICS cooperation remains evident. He stressed that the changing global landscape cannot rely solely on outdated institutions. Improvements in representation, operational methods, and rule-making processes within global organizations are essential.
He reiterated the need for the Global South’s involvement in future technologies and manufacturing. BRICS nations must work together to bridge the gap between decisions and their results.
The Prime Minister concluded by stating that the New Delhi Declaration lays a clear path for the future of BRICS. He urged all member countries to translate these decisions into tangible outcomes, emphasizing the shared responsibility to turn decisions into results.
