
New Delhi, March 7: In the National Selection Trials 3 (Group A), Divyansh Singh Panwar and Khyati Chaudhary secured the top positions in the men’s and women’s 10-meter air rifle events, respectively. Olympian Anish Bhanwala triumphed in the 25-meter rapid fire pistol event, winning the T3 final.
In the men’s 10-meter air rifle finals, Tokyo Olympian Divyansh topped the 8-man final with a score of 252.5. Parth Rakesh Mane followed closely in second place with a score of 251.5, while Shahu Tushar Mane secured third place with a score of 230.9.
The women’s final at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in the National Capital Region (NCR) concluded with an exciting shoot-off, where Khyati defeated Mahit Sandhu. Both athletes were tied at 251.4 after 24 shots. In the shoot-off, Khyati scored a remarkable 10.9, surpassing Mahit’s 10.2 to claim the top spot. Mehuli Ghosh finished third with a score of 230.1.
Earlier, in the men’s qualification, Dhanush Shrikant qualified for the finals with a top score of 633.2, followed by Mahesh Babu Bathula with 632.6. National record holder Himanshu Dhillon and Neeraj Kumar qualified in third and fourth place with scores of 632.1. Parth Mane, Divyansh, and Shahu also qualified with scores of 631.8, 630.6, and 630.4, respectively. National champion Kiran Ankush Jadhav secured a spot in the top-8 with a score of 630.3.
In the women’s event, Mehuli qualified for the finals with a top score of 633.4, followed by Sonam Uttam Maskar with 633.2. Tilottama Sen qualified in third place with a score of 632.0, followed by Khyati (630.7) and Mahit (629.7). Vidarsha K. Vinod (629.4), Sakshi Sunil Padekar (629.3), and Esha Anil Taksale (629.1) also made it to the top-8.
Olympian Anish Bhanwala maintained his dominance in the 25-meter rapid fire pistol event, achieving a top score of 33 in the T3 final. Rajkawar Singh Sandhu secured second place with a score of 31, while Bhavesh Shekhawat claimed third place alongside Vijayveer Sidhu in a shoot-off, both scoring 29. Vijayveer finished fourth with 23 hits.
After Stage 1 of qualification, Bhavesh led with a combined score of 583-17x, followed by Rajkawar with 581-20x. Aadarsh Singh secured third place with a score of 580-15x, while Anish scored 578-15x. Neeraj Kumar (576-16x), Vijayveer (576-15x), Omkar Singh (575-18x), and Pradeep Singh Shekhawat (575-15x) rounded out the top-8.
