Mumbai, June 15: The trend of biopics on OTT platforms is rapidly gaining momentum. One such series, “Made in India: A Titan Story,” showcases the life of renowned Indian industrialist J.R.D. Tata. In this series, actor Naseeruddin Shah takes on the role of J.R.D. Tata, earning acclaim from both audiences and critics alike.
Reflecting on his experience, Naseeruddin Shah stated that portraying this character was not merely acting but a significant responsibility.
He remarked, “J.R.D. Tata was a personality whose greatest traits were his composure and simplicity. He always maintained a calm and balanced demeanor. What impresses me the most is that despite being a prominent industrialist, he never allowed his personality to become a part of publicity.”
The actor further explained, “Understanding J.R.D. Tata and embodying him on screen was not an easy task for me. Throughout my long career, I have played various roles, but this one was particularly special and laden with responsibility, as he is an important part of India’s history. Therefore, I approached this role with great care and seriousness.”
Naseeruddin Shah expressed his happiness about being part of this project, stating, “I had the opportunity to understand a person whose thoughts and personality continue to inspire people today. He praised his co-star Jim Sarbh, saying, “His greatest quality is that he listens attentively to his fellow actors. This trait is rare among performers but is crucial in acting. When an actor comprehends their partner’s words and emotions, the scene becomes more impactful.”
