Mumbai, July 30: Actor Jimmy Shergill is set to appear soon in the web series ‘Operation Sagar,’ where he plays an Indian Air Force officer and senior pilot. He believes that this series chose him, allowing him to tell a compelling story.
In a recent conversation, he stated, “I think when projects like this choose us, it becomes our responsibility to work hard and do justice to these characters. Our team is fantastic, with great creators, and the actors put in tremendous effort. We shot so much that we often lost track of time. It wasn’t done in pieces; for instance, building the entire cockpit set took almost a month before we began shooting. There were significant gaps in between.”
When asked about what he liked about the artist within him during the series, he replied, “The first thing was definitely the script. When you like the concept of the script, you start placing yourself in that situation and see what you can bring to it. It’s also crucial to have a good director, which we are fortunate to have.”
He added, “I think it was a plus point for us because I have known him for a long time. We were supposed to work together on a film that didn’t materialize.”
Netflix’s upcoming web series ‘Operation Sagar’ will stream on August 7. This military drama is based on the historical and daring operations of the Indian Air Force during the Kargil War of 1999.
In the series, Jimmy Shergill portrays an Indian Air Force officer and senior pilot. He will be seen leading and mentoring young fighter pilots in the ‘Golden Arrow Squadron’ alongside Siddharth.
