
Noida, June 2: A major incident was narrowly avoided at the Noida Sector-16 Metro Station on Tuesday when a man suddenly jumped onto the tracks in front of an approaching train. Thanks to the quick actions of Metro staff and local police, a potential disaster was averted, and the man’s life was saved.
According to reports, as Metro train number 7449 was nearing the Sector-16 station heading towards Delhi, the individual unexpectedly leaped onto the tracks. The train driver and station personnel reacted immediately, halting the train and implementing emergency safety protocols.
Following the incident, the station experienced a brief period of chaos. To ensure passenger safety, the Metro was evacuated, and everyone present was ushered outside. Subsequently, Metro staff and police worked together to safely remove the man from the tracks.
Initial investigations by police suggest that the individual appeared to be mentally unstable, with an estimated age between 50 and 60 years. Authorities are currently working to identify him and understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. They are also attempting to contact his family for further inquiries.
The incident temporarily disrupted Metro services; however, operations resumed normally after safety checks and necessary procedures were completed. Officials emphasized that passenger safety remains their top priority, and measures will be enhanced to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
