Nagpur, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : A significant flyover was inaugurated in Nagpur on September 19, 2026, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). This project, costing approximately ₹998 crore, is named after Dr. Keshav Baliram Pant Hedgewar, the founder of the RSS.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari were present for the inauguration and unveiling of the plaque. Chief Minister Fadnavis, along with other officials and representatives, inspected the newly constructed flyover.
Spanning from Indora Chowk to Dighori Chowk, this flyover is expected to significantly enhance the traffic flow in Nagpur. It aims to improve connectivity between the northern and southern parts of the city, thereby alleviating congestion on major routes.
In a post on social media platform X, Minister Gadkari shared details about the flyover, emphasizing its role in improving connectivity and traffic management in Nagpur. He noted that this project is a crucial step in enhancing the city’s infrastructure.
Additionally, Chief Minister Fadnavis announced that another flyover, connecting Indora to Pardi, would also be named after Dr. Hedgewar, further honoring the founder’s legacy.
The inauguration event was attended by several dignitaries, including Maharashtra government ministers, local legislators, and Nagpur’s mayor, Nita Thakre, among others.
