
Satna, August 18: A shocking incident has unfolded in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, where the body of a 30-year-old man from Odisha was discovered under suspicious circumstances in a hotel room. The police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of death.
The deceased has been identified as Bachhal Loknath, a resident of Ganjam district in Odisha. His body was found in room number 105 of the Chandraview Hotel, located in the Kolgav area.
According to police reports, Loknath frequently visited Satna for work-related purposes over the past year and a half, often staying at the same hotel. He checked in on July 29.
A police officer stated, “Hotel staff informed us that he had not left his room since August 14. On Monday evening, noticing no activity from the room, the hotel manager opened the door, where they found his body lying on the floor.”
Upon receiving the report, police and forensic teams arrived at the scene to investigate. Blood stains were discovered on the floor near the body, and it was noted that blood was also coming from Loknath’s nose.
The investigation revealed the presence of 11 empty bottles of alcohol, cigarette packets, and remnants of corn in the room. Police have included these items as part of their investigation.
Hotel staff mentioned that Loknath typically ordered food once a day and would order alcohol and cigarettes in the evening.
A police official remarked, “The exact cause of death is still unclear. The body has been sent to the district hospital, and further action will be taken following the post-mortem report.”
The police have informed the deceased’s family about the incident. During questioning, family members revealed that they last spoke to Loknath on the evening of August 15.
According to the initial assessment by the forensic team, the body is estimated to be around two days old. The police are currently interrogating hotel staff and examining the evidence collected from the room.
The post-mortem will be conducted once Loknath’s family arrives in Satna. Authorities have stated that the true cause and circumstances of death will be determined after the post-mortem report and further investigation.
