Mumbai, June 24: Maharashtra Minister Uday Samant and BJP legislator Manisha Chaudhary addressed various issues, including waterlogging, amid heavy rainfall in Mumbai. Chaudhary welcomed the rain, emphasizing its necessity for the public.
In a conversation regarding the rainfall, BJP legislator Manisha Chaudhary stated, “I welcome this rain as it was much needed. People were suffering from extreme heat and a shortage of drinking water. Before the rain, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation effectively cleaned the drains. As a result, despite the rainfall, neither trains nor buses were halted, and there were no major traffic jams. However, some areas did experience water accumulation. We must completely ban plastic, as it contributes to waterlogging, regardless of how well the drains are maintained.”
In response to statements made by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, Minister Uday Samant remarked, “This has been ongoing for the past four years; there is nothing new here. We have been witnessing morning tweets, statements, and derogatory comments directed at us who work under CM Shinde’s leadership for the last four years. There is nothing new in this.”
Regarding the removal of TMC chairperson Mamata Banerjee by rebel legislators, Uday Samant commented, “This is an internal matter for the TMC. Decisions about who to replace, who to appoint as chairperson, and other such matters are theirs to resolve.”
On the potential merger of Shiv Sena and Shiv Sena (UBT), Shiv Sena MLC Bachchu Kadu expressed, “I believe that the formation of Shiv Sena in Maharashtra was aimed at strengthening Maratha identity and the state’s ethos. If these two parties unite and their leaders come together, their voice will be even stronger. This will enable us to better promote Maharashtra’s identity in the future.”
