Mukesh Khanna Launches Jai Hind Campaign to Honor Martyrs in Ayodhya

Ayodhya, March 23: Actor Mukesh Khanna visited Ayodhya Dham, where he inaugurated the ‘Jai Hind’ signature campaign near Rajdwar Park, close to Hanuman Garhi. In a conversation, he shared that this initiative aims to honor revolutionaries and grant them martyr status.

Mukesh stated, “This is my first visit to Ayodhya. It’s evident that significant changes have occurred here. The construction of the temple has led to considerable progress. My friend Deepak Tripathi, a local, has often told me about the advancements.”

He elaborated on the purpose of his campaign, saying, “We have come here for two reasons. The primary reason is today’s date. It marks Martyrs’ Day, the day when Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru were executed by the British. Therefore, we are launching the ‘Jai Hind’ campaign today to honor these great warriors.”

Mukesh explained his choice of date, noting, “You should consider why I chose today to visit. The BJP has invited me several times before. While I didn’t dismiss their invitations, I had decided that if I came, it would be for a peaceful purpose, specifically to honor the martyrs.”

He further demanded that Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru be officially recognized as martyrs. He pointed out that neither the British government nor the Nehru administration or Mountbatten granted them this status.

He added, “If Chandrashekhar Azad had been awarded the Bharat Ratna, it would not diminish his honor but elevate the award itself. We have been fighting for this cause for the past ten years. These revolutionaries deserve martyr status. Their contributions should be recognized in schools and society.”

Mukesh Khanna also remarked that while the British left India, their mindset and colonial mentality still linger. He suggested that street names should be changed to honor revolutionaries.
