Mumbai, March 22: Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurdhar 2: The Revenge’ is breaking new records at the box office. The first part of the film had a remarkable run in theaters for a month.
The love for ‘Dhurdhar 2’ suggests it may surpass the box office collection of its predecessor. As the film releases, various insights are emerging, but few know that actors Arjun Rampal and Akshaye Khanna were moved to tears while shooting a particular scene.
In ‘Dhurdhar’, Arjun Rampal plays Major Iqbal, a crucial figure in the ISI’s campaign against India, while Akshaye Khanna portrays a don from Lyari. The film includes a scene depicting the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, where the characters Rahman Dacoit and Major Iqbal celebrate, while Ranveer Singh’s character struggles to contain his emotions.
Immediately after filming this scene, both Arjun Rampal and Akshaye Khanna became emotional, as they deeply felt the tragedy associated with it. According to R. Madhavan, who plays Ajay Sanyal in the film, the atmosphere on set turned somber once the scene was cut. He noted that as Indians, everyone is connected to that sorrow in some way.
Creating ‘Dhurdhar’ was not an easy task for the filmmakers. Aditya Dhar spent two years on research alone, which increased the film’s budget. This made it challenging to find investors, but after three years of hard work, the film finally hit the screens. It has not only captured the audience’s hearts but also opened new avenues in Hindi filmmaking.
