Monsoon Likely to Withdraw from Rajasthan by Next Week

Jaipur, September 16 (Patrika English News). The southwest monsoon is expected to withdraw from RAJASTHAN by next week, with favourable conditions forming across several parts of the state. On Tuesday, the weather remained mostly dry, except in Dholpur.

According to the Meteorological Centre, temperatures continued to fluctuate across the state. Sri Ganganagar recorded the highest day temperature at 37.1°C, while Sangaria registered the warmest night at 27.7°C. In Jaipur, the maximum temperature dropped by 1.7°C and the minimum by 0.3°C, settling at 33.3°C and 26.3°C, respectively.

Met Centre Director Radheshyam Sharma said that the monsoon has already withdrawn from parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, and Haryana. The withdrawal line currently passes through Bhatinda, Fatehabad, Pilani, Ajmer, Sri Ganganagar, Nagaur, Jodhpur, Barmer, Deesa, and Bhuj. Over the next 2–3 days, conditions will become favourable for further withdrawal from more parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Gujarat.

Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation persists over north-central Uttar Pradesh and surrounding regions at about 0.9 km above sea level.

With rainfall receding, inflows into Bisalpur Dam have also decreased. On Tuesday, the dam’s Gate No. 9 was opened by one metre, releasing 6,010 cusecs of water. Currently, the Triveni river is flowing at a level of 3.30 metres.
