Kolkata, April 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an impressive road show in Kolkata on Sunday as part of the campaign for the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections. The event attracted a massive crowd, and the participation of women particularly delighted PM Modi.
Photos of the women who joined the road show were shared on Modi’s official social media accounts. He expressed his admiration, stating that Kolkata never fails to win his heart. He described the road show as spectacular, emphasizing the strong involvement of the city’s women and youth, which made the event even more special. Modi noted that it was evident the great city desires the BJP and its development agenda.
He criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC), stating that while they have garnered votes in Kolkata for years, they have failed to deliver on their promises. Modi asserted that the TMC lacks understanding of urban administration, focusing instead on politics of intimidation and exploitation. This has led to delays in several crucial infrastructure projects in the city.
The Prime Minister reassured the people of Kolkata and its surroundings that a BJP government would bring a fresh perspective to urban development. He promised to build modern infrastructure tailored to the needs of the next generation and to foster development that meets the expectations of the citizens.
Modi highlighted that health and education would be top priorities if the BJP comes to power in West Bengal. He pledged to improve connectivity, modernize facilities, and ensure better basic services for the people. Additionally, efforts will be made to promote Bengali culture and literature in the future.
During the road show, he sought blessings at the Thanthania Kalibari, one of Kolkata’s oldest Kali temples. His visit to the temple was pre-scheduled, where he offered flowers and prayers before continuing with the road show.
