Patna, June 5: Sanjay Sarawagi, the President of the Bihar BJP, shared his insights on environmental protection, law and order in Bihar, and the upcoming elections during an exclusive interview with a news agency on Friday.
On the occasion of World Environment Day, Sarawagi highlighted that the BJP is running a campaign called “One Tree in the Name of Mother” at every booth level across Bihar. He noted the alarming effects of global warming, such as unexpected rainfall and temperature fluctuations, emphasizing the increased responsibility for environmental conservation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been actively working on climate change and expanding forest areas, with a call for every individual to plant and care for a tree in honor of their mother or ancestors. Sarawagi stressed that Environment Day is not just an event but a commitment to nature conservation.
When asked about Prime Minister Modi setting a new record on June 10, Sarawagi stated that Modi is poised to become one of the longest-serving representatives and Prime Ministers in the country. He remarked that under Modi’s leadership, India is progressing towards becoming the world’s fourth-largest economy. Significant efforts have been made for the welfare of the poor, women, youth, and farmers. Modi’s global recognition continues to rise, having received the highest civilian honors from 32 countries.
Regarding the arrest of two security guards linked to Khan Global Study, Sarawagi affirmed that the Bihar police have been granted full autonomy to maintain law and order. He asserted that anyone who breaks the law will face action and will not be spared under any circumstances. The Chief Minister is consistently reviewing law and order, and arrests are being made against those challenging the law.
On the issue of reduced security for former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, Lalu Prasad Yadav, and Tej Pratap Yadav, the head of Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD), Sarawagi mentioned that a security committee in the state regularly reviews security arrangements and makes decisions accordingly. If an individual faces a specific threat, their security will be enhanced.
Discussing a meeting with BJP National President Nitin Nabin regarding the upcoming by-elections in the Bankipur Assembly seat and the elections for 10 seats in the Legislative Council, Sarawagi noted that Nabin is a leader connected to the soil of Bihar. Despite his national responsibilities, he remains focused on Bihar. He mentioned that the recent formation of a new team of state officials has been guided by the National President.
Regarding the Bankipur Assembly by-election, Sarawagi expressed confidence in the strength of the BJP organization at the booth level and the broad support from the public. He assured that the BJP will field a candidate and run a robust election campaign.
