Modi Describes Sweden Visit as Positive and Meaningful

Stockholm, May 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has concluded his visit to Sweden and is now en route to Norway. He described the trip as highly fruitful. On social media, he shared a video clip showcasing the respect he received in Sweden and the achievements of the visit, expressing gratitude to the Swedish public and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

In his post, PM Modi stated, “My visit to Sweden concluded with several significant achievements that will give new momentum to India-Sweden relations.”

He further emphasized, “Our discussions were extremely positive and meaningful, ranging from elevating our relationship to a strategic partnership level, launching Joint Innovation Partnership 2.0, and initiating the India-Sweden Technology and Artificial Intelligence Corridor, to setting an ambitious goal of doubling bilateral trade in the next five years.”

The Prime Minister sincerely thanked the Swedish people, the Swedish government, and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson for their affection, warmth, and friendship.

The video clip included highlights such as Swedish fighter jets escorting the Prime Minister’s aircraft, the ‘Royal Order of the Polar Star Commander Grand Cross’ honor, and his address at the ‘European Round Table for Industry’ (ERT) held in Gothenburg.

While addressing the ERT, PM Modi remarked that the partnership between India and Europe extends beyond economic figures; it is guided by shared values, democracy, and diversity. The event featured participation from Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, top leaders from the European industry, and representatives from major European and Indian companies, organized by the Volvo Group.

Earlier, PM Modi was awarded the ‘Royal Order of the Polar Star Commander Grand Cross,’ Sweden’s highest honor bestowed upon any head of state or government. This accolade was presented during the event in Gothenburg on Sunday, attended by several senior leaders, marking the 31st international honor received by PM Modi.
