New Delhi, May 15: Concerns are rising among the public as petrol, diesel, and CNG prices increase across the country. Following a hike of ₹3 per liter for petrol and diesel, and ₹2 for CNG, long queues have formed at petrol stations in several cities as people rush to fill their tanks.
In Delhi, frustration over rising inflation was evident. A local resident expressed, “Life is becoming more expensive every day. The government needs to pay attention and find a solution.”
Another individual questioned the government, stating, “Prime Minister Modi should first reduce his expenses, and ministers should do the same. It has been 14 years, yet public transport has not improved. Life has become difficult for the common man.”
Conversely, some residents in Ghaziabad showed support for the government. One consumer remarked, “The current government has done many good things. Given the international circumstances, a ₹3 increase is not significant. In other countries, prices have risen by ₹10 to ₹15, while in India, it’s just ₹3. This is a positive sign.”
In Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, long lines were also observed at petrol stations as people rushed to fill their tanks after the price hike.
A consumer from Baramulla commented, “This will affect everyone, but it’s not entirely under government control. This is due to international conditions. Only when the war ends will the situation stabilize.”
The increase in fuel prices has elicited a mix of concern, frustration, and support among the public.
