New Delhi, August 18: Delhi police have arrested a relative of a minor in connection with her murder. The accused led authorities to the discovery of the girl’s body hidden in a suitcase in the Burari area of Ajit Vihar.
The Outer North District Special Staff team of the Delhi police revealed the case and apprehended the suspect, who is accused of killing his own cousin sister.
According to police, acting on a tip-off, the Special Staff team, led by Inspector Vishvendra Chaudhary, set a trap and detained Avinash, son of Shoki Rai, a resident of Mukundpur Part-2, Delhi. The suspect was found to be linked to the murder of a minor girl in the North District.
Police reported that Head Constable Sanjay of the Special Staff played a crucial role in this operation. During interrogation, the accused confessed to his involvement in the murder and guided police to the location in Ajit Vihar, Burari, where he had concealed the girl’s body in a suitcase.
Following the suspect’s directions, police recovered the body from the suitcase. The case has since been handed over to the Burari police, who are now filing an FIR and continuing their investigation.
According to police officials, they are examining all circumstances surrounding the case and the motives behind the murder. After initial actions, police are now focused on gathering evidence and connecting the dots of the entire incident.
The Outer North District police stated that the swift and professional actions of the Special Staff have uncovered a serious crime. They emphasized that this is a significant success in the investigation of heinous crimes and in ensuring the safety of citizens.
So far, police have learned that the accused and the victim are related as siblings, and the suspect had issues related to his romantic relationship, which led him to commit the murder of the minor girl he considered his sister.
