Minister Dilip Ghosh Responds to FIR Against Abhishek Banerjee: Justice Will Prevail

Kolkata, May 16: Minister Dilip Ghosh of the West Bengal government has addressed the FIR filed against Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee. He stated that previously, fear prevented people from filing complaints, but now both the public and police are prepared, ensuring that justice will be served.

An FIR has been registered against Abhishek Banerjee at the Bidhannagar North Cyber Crime Police Station. He is accused of making inflammatory statements ahead of the elections and also of commenting against Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

In response, Ghosh remarked, “Those who have committed atrocities and mistreated others include Abhishek Banerjee, Mamata Banerjee, and their leaders. Fear once kept people from filing complaints, and police did not take action. Now, the police are ready, the public is ready, and justice will definitely be served. Action will be taken against everyone.”

Meanwhile, regarding the suspension of three officials in the RG Kar case, Ghosh said, “The RG Kar incident was tragic, and the victim has yet to receive justice. Legal provisions are in place to ensure justice, and the law is working in that direction.”

He added that their party promised to reopen the file on this case upon coming to power, and this action is part of that process. Ghosh noted, “The Chief Minister also made this promise, and they are moving forward in this direction. The public is very pleased with this.”

The victim’s mother has blamed Mamata Banerjee for the incident. When asked about this, Ghosh stated, “Whoever was involved in the incident will be brought to justice after the investigation. We have previously seen judges being surrounded and shouted at during hearings, preventing them from doing their work. Times have changed, and Mamata Banerjee will also have to wear a black coat and go to court. Her entire life will be spent between the black coat and the court.”

On the Falta by-election, Ghosh commented, “Falta is not outside West Bengal. The rule of law prevails in Bengal, and it will apply in Falta as well. The elections are still pending, and the decision will be made by the public.”
