Ayodhya, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : Former Indian Air Force Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra has officially taken on the role of the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. He arrived in Ayodhya on September 8 to begin his new responsibilities. Upon his arrival, Mishra first visited the Ram Temple to pay his respects to Ram Lalla before proceeding to the Teerth Kshetra Bhavan to start coordinating temple-related operations with the staff.
The Trust has arranged accommodation for Mishra in a building near the temple, allowing him to oversee administrative tasks, financial management, and facilities for devotees on a permanent basis. After arriving at the temple complex, he visited the greenhouse and held meetings with officials to gather information about ongoing arrangements. Mishra’s appointment was made during a significant meeting of the Trust earlier this month.
Mishra was selected from over 5,000 candidates based on recommendations from a search committee established to find the temple’s first CEO. The Trust recognized his extensive 39 years of service in the Indian Air Force and his administrative and leadership experience as key factors in his selection. Previously, he had visited Ayodhya to meet with trustees and understand his responsibilities and the operational aspects related to the temple.
Now settled in Ayodhya, Mishra faces the challenge of streamlining administrative processes amid increasing temple activities and a growing number of visitors. His primary responsibilities will include managing temple operations, security, staff arrangements, visitor amenities, financial oversight, and fostering coordination among various departments and agencies.
Mishra was commissioned into the Indian Air Force on December 6, 1986, and is a former student of the National Defence Academy. He has previously served as the head of the Western Air Command and led operations during ‘Operation Sindoor.’ On his first day, he also coordinated with temple officials regarding preparations for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s upcoming visit to Ayodhya, where the Chief Minister will participate in a state-level event honoring Anganwadi workers before visiting Hanuman Garhi and the Ram Temple.
Mishra’s appointment as CEO is seen as a significant step toward making temple administration more professional, organized, and accountable, as he takes on the responsibility of institutionalizing the growing operations of the Ram Temple, now recognized as one of the world’s major religious sites.
