Michigan State Football Finalist for Top Defensive Lineman Ohimai Ozolua

Chicago, March 30: Michigan State football has emerged as a finalist for a highly sought-after defensive lineman from Illinois.

Ohimai Ozolua, hailing from Chicago, has unveiled his “final five” schools, with Michigan State making the list. The Spartans are competing against rivals Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Tennessee for Ozolua’s commitment.

Ozolua is recognized as a three-star prospect, boasting a recruiting rating of 89 according to 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 48 defensive lineman, the No. 15 player from Illinois, and the No. 416 overall prospect in the 2027 class.

Michigan State is among 15 schools that have extended offers to Ozolua. Other notable offers include Boston College, Illinois, Iowa, Miami (FL), Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Wisconsin.

Currently, Michigan State is the only school to secure an official visit from Ozolua. He is scheduled to visit the Spartans in late May, a pivotal moment that could influence his recruitment decision.
