New Delhi, August 30: Maulana Sajid Rashidi has welcomed the statement made by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat regarding Hindu-Muslim unity. He called for action against hatred and violence.
In a conversation, Rashidi stated, “His statement is commendable, but the treatment of Muslims in the country under the BJP government contradicts Bhagwat’s words. This statement reflects the true spirit and civilization of India. Our nation is known worldwide for its unity in diversity, where people of different religions coexist peacefully. However, over the past two decades, there have been attempts to break this love and turn it into hatred.”
Rashidi questioned whether action would be taken against those spreading hatred towards Muslims. He remarked, “If some individuals are imprisoned by the BJP government, only then will we believe that Bhagwat’s statement is sincere. If those within the BJP, who are known for their controversial statements, are not restrained, it will appear as if there is a disconnect between their words and actions. If their intentions are genuine, immediate action should be taken against those spreading hatred.”
He emphasized that education is the key to true success. “A country can progress only with education. Our dream of becoming a global leader is achievable only when literacy rates improve. European countries are advanced because their literacy rates are high, with up to 90% of their populations educated. Our situation is quite different. Those who are uneducated and harbor hatred towards Muslims can never contribute positively to the nation.”
Maulana Sajid Rashidi further stated that those who wish to spread hatred in the country aim to divide it. “The government and the RSS need to understand this. The goal of advancing India can only be successful if we live together with love and respect.”
