Mumbai, August 30: BJP leader Ram Kadam has expressed strong criticism of comedian Samay Raina’s controversial comments about Biharis and Kashmiri Pandits during his show “India’s Got Latent.” Kadam stated that exploiting emotions under the guise of art for publicity is unacceptable. He emphasized that mere apologies are insufficient and called for strict laws to ensure such individuals face imprisonment.
In an interview, he remarked, “During the Congress regime, countless atrocities were committed against Kashmiri Pandits on their sacred land in Jammu and Kashmir. They were persecuted and forced to leave their homes. It was only under the Modi government that they regained their dignity. Does this comedian not understand the suffering they endured, or is he willing to say anything for publicity?”
Kadam continued, “We respect the art and talent of any artist, but no one has the right to hurt the sentiments of Kashmiri Pandits, Biharis, or any deity of Hinduism under the pretext of art.”
He further stated, “These incidents often end with an apology, allowing the artist or the film to gain more publicity than deserved. This has become a new tactic for garnering attention. When will it stop? There must be stringent laws to ban such art, and those who dare to play with people’s sentiments should be imprisoned. This is what needs to happen with this comedian as well.”
During the discussion, Kadam also commented on RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement made in New York, which asserted that “if any Hindu thinks there should be no Muslims in India, then he cannot be a Hindu.” Kadam described this statement as reflective of India’s true culture, civilization, and the values of Sanatan Dharma. He noted that India is home to many languages, castes, sects, and religions, and that unity in diversity is the country’s wealth.
Attacking Congress, he said, “On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi, whose face is emblematic of anti-Hindu sentiment, is tarnishing India’s image abroad while praising enemy nations. The country is witnessing two very different faces.”
Kadam also mocked Rahul Gandhi’s recent statement about “two cups” at tea stalls, suggesting that Gandhi lies so frequently he could be dubbed the emperor of liars. He criticized Gandhi for attempting to mislead the public once again, stating that if an issue exists, it should be raised, but addressing non-existent matters in such a manner is highly inappropriate.
It is worth noting that Rahul Gandhi had stated in a press conference on Saturday that there are two types of cups at tea stalls: one for Dalits, which is discarded after use, and another for the upper caste, which is reused.
