Maulana Sajid Rashidi Questions Ghaziabad Encounter, Calls It Biased

New Delhi, June 2: Maulana Sajid Rashidi, the president of the All India Imam Association, has raised concerns regarding the recent encounter in Ghaziabad.

In an interview, he stated, “Since the day this encounter took place, we have maintained that it was biased. The question arises in a democratic country where there should be a democratic process. This process demands that any accused individual should first be apprehended, questioned, and subjected to due legal procedures. An FIR is filed, a case is registered, and then the matter is taken to court. It is the court that decides the appropriate punishment.”

He emphasized that the biased nature of the decision is questionable. The encounter was conducted based on religion, and a notice was even posted at the accused’s residence. It has now come to light that part of his house was deemed illegal construction. Numerous questions can arise from this situation, and the government should also consider investigating these aspects.

Commenting on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath‘s statement, Rashidi noted that while the intention may have been good, as the saying goes, medicine is often bitter. This message could have also been conveyed in a way that encourages both Hindus and Muslims to instill good values in their children, preventing them from engaging in wrongful acts or taking drastic steps.

Rashidi asserted that leaders should refrain from making biased statements. It is only natural to question politically motivated remarks.

Regarding the cow, Rashidi mentioned that if one considers the cow as a mother based on their beliefs, they are free to do so. However, in their faith, it is not regarded as such.
