Maoist Arms Factory Destroyed in Gadchiroli, Significant Materials Recovered

Mumbai, May 24: In a significant operation against Maoism, police in Gadchiroli district, Maharashtra, have achieved a major breakthrough. Authorities uncovered and destroyed a hidden Maoist arms manufacturing facility in the dense forests of the Pomke-Binagunda area. This operation is considered a substantial blow to the Maoist network and its weapon production capabilities.

According to police officials, this action was based on confidential information obtained from Maoists who recently surrendered during “Operation Antim Prahar.” During interrogations, it was revealed that the Maoist organization was secretly manufacturing weapons and hiding explosive materials underground in forested areas. These materials were intended for attacks on security forces during Naxal Week, elections, and other occasions.

Following the tip-off, Gadchiroli police launched a special operation, conducting a search in the forests of Pomke-Binagunda. The operation lasted several hours, during which police and security forces cordoned off the area and conducted thorough investigations of suspicious locations. During the search, a large quantity of technical and arms manufacturing materials was discovered hidden underground.

The recovered items included lathe machines, 12-bore pipes, BGL pipes, inverters, generators, batteries, grinding machines, drilling machines, jigsaw machines, pressure pumps, solar panels, and other equipment. Police stated that these machines and tools were used for weapon manufacturing and facilitating Maoist activities. Additionally, a significant amount of Maoist literature was found hidden underground in the forest and was subsequently destroyed.

For security reasons, the recovered materials were destroyed on-site. Officials believe that this operation has dealt a significant blow to the Maoist network and will impact their activities.

The entire operation was conducted under the guidance of Gadchiroli Superintendent of Police M. Ramesh. He praised the personnel involved in the operation, stating that the campaign against Maoism in the district will continue relentlessly. The police aim to completely dismantle the active Maoist network in the forests and ensure peace and security in the region.
