New Delhi, June 24: Delhi government minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa held a press conference at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, making serious allegations regarding Punjab’s politics and Sikh religious matters.
Sirsa stated that the Akal Takht Sahib issued an order through five Singh Sahibans, declaring that no Sikh should maintain any relationship with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
He claimed that this directive came after a video surfaced showing Mann disrespecting the sacred form of Guru Sahib by splashing alcohol. Sirsa noted that this incident has caused deep outrage and pain within the global Sikh community, as no Sikh can tolerate disrespect towards Guru Sahib.
Sirsa revealed that on January 5, 2026, the Akal Takht Sahib summoned Bhagwant Mann to present his side. At that time, Mann claimed that the video was AI-generated and not authentic. However, subsequent forensic examinations by two different agencies confirmed the video’s authenticity.
Following this, on June 15, 2026, the Akal Takht Sahib declared Mann a ‘Guru-Drohi’ and ‘opponent of the Khalsa Panth,’ expelling him from the Sikh community and ordering that no Sikh worldwide maintain any association with him.
During the press conference, it was also mentioned that instead of expressing remorse, Mann’s minister Harpal Singh Cheema held a press conference on June 18, 2026, stating that the video was fake.
Sirsa claimed that a forensic report was prepared after examining 1,191 frames, concluding that the video was not AI-generated, although some parts of it were disputed.
He further alleged that Haryana Commissioner Swapan Sharma, a close associate of Mann, held a meeting with Jashandeep SP at a hotel regarding cases linked to the Gurugram forensic lab, where financial transactions occurred.
Sirsa asserted that a fraudulent forensic report was created using alleged black money from the Aam Aadmi Party to discredit the video.
He emphasized that this entire issue reflects a disregard for Sikh sentiments, with certain individuals attempting to create a false narrative through financial means. Sirsa accused these activities of challenging the supremacy of the Akal Takht Sahib.
In the press conference, he remarked that the mentality currently visible in Punjab resembles the oppressive mindset of the Mughal era.
Sirsa also targeted Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal and his associates, alleging that the party and its leaders are working against the sentiments of the Sikh community and the Akal Takht by fabricating false reports. This entire effort aims to undermine the authority of the Akal Takht.
