Bihar Lawmakers Donate One Months Salary to Flood Relief Fund

Patna, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : In a generous move to assist families affected by recent floods in Bihar, lawmakers from the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) donated their one-month salaries to the Chief Minister‘s Relief Fund. The donation, amounting to ₹17.19 lakh, was presented to Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary during a ceremony held at the ‘Sankalp’ hall in the Lok Seva Sadan.

The donation was led by Sanjay Kumar Jha, the national executive president of JD(U), alongside Deputy Chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council Ramvachan Rai and Health Minister Nishant. Other notable attendees included various lawmakers who also contributed their salaries, demonstrating a collective effort to support those in need.

Chief Minister Chaudhary expressed his gratitude for the contributions, stating that the funds will assist those facing hardships during this disaster. He highlighted the importance of such support in times of crisis.

Sanjay Kumar Jha took to social media platform X to announce the donation, emphasizing the commitment of JD(U) to help flood-affected families in Bihar. Alongside him, Health Minister Nishant and other leaders also contributed to the relief fund, showcasing a united front in addressing the challenges posed by the floods.
