Kolkata, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : The West Bengal government has issued a warning regarding fraudulent phone calls made in the name of the state’s governor. The advisory, released by Lok Bhawan, urges government officials, organizations, and the public to exercise caution when receiving suspicious calls or messages and to verify their authenticity.
Authorities have become aware that some individuals are falsely claiming to be the governor or associated with Lok Bhawan during these calls. Recently, two mobile numbers, 9836205162 and 9836874913, were reported to have made such calls. One caller identified himself as ‘Aakash Singh’ from the Governor’s House, while the other claimed to be the governor of West Bengal.
Lok Bhawan clarified that no individual by the name of Aakash Singh is employed there. In a separate incident, the governor’s image was used in promotional material for an event in Kolkata without his consent.
Taking these matters seriously, Lok Bhawan has instructed relevant officials to conduct investigations. They are tasked with identifying those responsible and taking appropriate legal action. Additionally, Lok Bhawan has requested a report on the unauthorized use of the governor’s image.
The advisory emphasizes that no one should trust unsolicited or suspicious calls, messages, or claims made in the name of the governor or Lok Bhawan without verifying their authenticity. It also stated that the governor’s name, image, or title should not be used for any events or promotions without proper authorization.
The government has appealed to the public to report any suspicious messages or calls related to the governor or Lok Bhawan through official channels.
