
Imphal, June 24: The Bharat Scouts and Guides of Manipur state inaugurated the 16th District Summer Testing Camp-2026 on Wednesday at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tamenglong.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from scouts, guides, rovers, rangers, and leaders from various units. The camp commenced with a flag hoisting ceremony, symbolizing discipline, unity, and the spirit of scouting and guiding.
The chief guest, Reverend Father Gonmei Namridinang Henry (SDB), formally inaugurated the camp by hoisting the flag. The ceremony was presided over by Gaidonlung Gangmei, DCC of the Tamenglong district association and retired ZEO.
In his address, Reverend Father Henry urged participants to strive to become good individuals and to align their conduct with the camp’s theme, “Level Up: Shaping a Better Future.”
In his presidential speech, Gaidonlung Gangmei encouraged participants to make the most of the camp, emphasizing the development of leadership skills, teamwork, and self-discipline. He also highlighted the importance of character building and community service.
Camp Secretary Pauchingaiyang R. Panmei welcomed all guests, leaders, and participants, expressing hope that the camp would contribute to the holistic development of scouts and guides.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks from District Secretary Aiken, who expressed gratitude to the chief guest, organizers, participants, and everyone who contributed to the successful inauguration of the camp.
The opening ceremony set a positive tone for the entire camp, inspiring participants to actively engage in the upcoming training and activities.
