New Delhi, August 6: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Chandra Majhi will lead a two-day Investment Outreach Program in New Delhi on August 7-8. This initiative aims to attract significant investments to the state and strengthen industrial partnerships.
The high-level delegation will include the Minister of Industry, Skill Development, and Technical Education, Sampad Chandra Swain, along with senior officials from the state government. The team will meet with leading industrial groups, MSMEs, downstream industries, and business organizations from various sectors.
A key highlight of the program will be ‘Odisha Food Pro 2026,’ which will take place on August 7 in collaboration with ASSOCHAM. This special roadshow will showcase Odisha’s agricultural and marine resources, food processing systems, logistics facilities, government policies, and investment opportunities available throughout the entire value chain from farm to market.
Participants will include food processing companies, investors, MSMEs, industry associations, and regional experts. The event will feature sessions for industry representatives to share experiences, the launch of a knowledge report on Odisha’s food processing capabilities, signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), and direct interactions between state leadership and potential investors.
The state government aims to attract investments in food processing, packaging, cold chain, and other value-added activities. Additionally, it seeks to connect farmers, fishermen, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), women entrepreneurs, and rural businesses to national and global markets.
Beyond food processing, the outreach will also focus on developing downstream industrial value chains around large industrial investments established in Odisha. On August 7, the state delegation will hold personal meetings with industry leaders and discuss stainless steel-based downstream manufacturing, chemicals, and petrochemical sectors.
These meetings will also review current and proposed investment projects, emphasizing the identification of projects that can be rapidly implemented, strengthen local supply chains, and expedite announced investments.
On the second day, the delegation will visit a manufacturing unit in Greater Noida. There, they will study advanced manufacturing techniques and discuss potential collaborations in the white goods and consumer appliances sector.
Following this, the delegation will participate in three industry roundtable meetings in Greater Noida. These discussions will focus on the aluminum downstream industry, textiles and apparel, and engineering manufacturing and MSME sectors.
The aluminum sector meeting will explore opportunities for greater value addition in aluminum products, components, and engineering applications. Meanwhile, discussions with textile and apparel companies will center on Odisha’s growing textiles, apparel, and technical textiles industries.
The third roundtable will be organized in collaboration with the Indian Industry Association, involving engineering manufacturers and MSMEs. The focus will be on opportunities arising from Odisha’s metal, mining, energy, and manufacturing sectors, with special attention to industrial components, fabrication, capital equipment, clean energy devices, and strengthening local vendor networks.
Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary of the Odisha government, stated that the next phase of the state’s industrialization will focus on enhancing value addition around its existing strengths.
The state government believes that this investment campaign in New Delhi will strengthen partnerships between the government and the industry, attract new investment proposals, and accelerate previously announced projects. Increased investment in the food processing sector is expected to create new job opportunities and help raise income across the entire value chain.
