Manav Suthar Celebrates Test Debut Against Afghanistan: A Dream Come True

New Chandigarh, June 6: The Test match against Afghanistan, which began on Saturday in Mullanpur, marks a significant milestone for all-rounder Manav Suthar. At just 23 years old, this Indian cricketer is making his international debut. The debut cap was presented to him by renowned spinner Kuldeep Yadav. After receiving his cap, Suthar expressed that he was at a loss for words to describe his emotions.

In a video shared by the BCCI, Suthar stated, “I cannot express these feelings in words. To be honest, this is the best feeling of my life so far. Every cricketer dreams of receiving a Test cap, and this has inspired me greatly. I feel incredibly motivated to receive my debut cap from a legend like Kuldeep Bhai.”

During this special occasion, Kuldeep Yadav congratulated Suthar, saying, “Cap number 319, Manav Suthar. First of all, congratulations on your Test debut for India. It brings me joy to present you with this cap. This is a very special moment in your cricketing journey. We wish you all the best and hope your Test career is long and successful. As a fellow spinner, I know this is a big stage, but remember, nothing changes. Trust your skills, believe in yourself, and spin the ball the way you want. Welcome to the family, mate.”

Suthar, who plays for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026, is a left-handed batsman and a left-arm spinner. He competes in domestic cricket for Rajasthan. In his first-class career, he has played 29 matches and scored 945 runs, including one century and six half-centuries across 48 innings. Additionally, he has taken 129 wickets in 52 innings. His impressive all-round performance earned him a spot in the Indian team and the opportunity to debut in Tests.
