
New Delhi, October 7 (Daily Kiran) : The Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) is gearing up for its third season, with 146 riders from 21 different countries having registered to compete. This season will showcase not only India’s finest supercross talent but also several prominent international riders.
The league features riders across four categories, including the newly introduced ‘250cc Indian Futures,’ aimed at providing a unique opportunity for local riders to excel.
Among the registrations, 30 have come from India for the newly launched ‘250cc – Group A Foreign Bikes Only – Indian Futures’ and ‘250cc India Asia Mix’ categories.
Leading the international participation is France, with 32 riders registered, followed by Australia with 20 and the United States with 18. Riders from Indonesia, Thailand, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Japan, Canada, South Africa, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, and Mongolia have also signed up.
The competition will see 40 riders in the ‘450cc International’ category, 54 in the ‘250cc International’ category, and 26 in the ‘250cc India Asia Mix’ category.
Notable names in the ‘450cc International’ category include Season 2 champion Matt Moss, along with Jordy Tixier, John Short, Anthony Bourdain, Gregory Aranda, Ryan Breece, Luke Clout, and Anthony Rodriguez.
In the ‘250cc International’ category, riders such as Reed Taylor, Kelvin Vanfliet, Justin Rodbell, and Nico Koch will participate. The ‘India Asia Mix’ category will feature Visarut Salangam, Thanarat Penjan, Athison Ruadreao, Nakami Widi Makarim, Ben Hallgren, and Muhammad Athar Alghifari.
Indian contenders include talented riders like Rugved Barguzje, Prajwal Vishwanath, Shlok Ghorpade, and Ikshan Shanbhag.
Moss expressed his excitement about competing for another title after winning the ISRL championship in Season 2.
Registration has now closed, and the league is moving towards the rider auction, where franchises will select their teams from the final pool of registered competitors. This auction will determine the team compositions for Season 3, as preparations for the opening round are well underway.
