Lucknow, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : A 26-year-old man has been arrested in Lucknow for the alleged murder of his friend, Sachin, over a financial dispute. The incident occurred after the two reportedly drank together on September 28.
According to police reports, a complaint was filed on October 1 at the Bijnour police station. The complainant accused Birju, Teju, and others of choking Sachin and electrocuting him to death. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered, prompting the police to form three teams to locate the suspects.
Investigators reviewed approximately 170 to 190 CCTV footage clips and utilized both technical and manual evidence alongside local intelligence to track down the accused. On October 2, police apprehended Birju, who admitted during questioning that he and Sachin were friends who often shared meals and drinks.
The police revealed that on the day of the incident, Sachin had asked Birju for money, but Birju claimed he was broke. In a desperate move, Sachin pawned his motorcycle to secure funds. The two then purchased alcohol and consumed it at Birju’s home, where Sachin eventually passed out due to excessive drinking.
Birju reportedly decided to kill Sachin to take the remaining money he had. He allegedly electrocuted Sachin while he lay unconscious, leading to his death. Afterward, Birju stole the money from Sachin’s pockets and abandoned the body near another residence before fleeing the scene.
Authorities recovered an electric wire, an iron cooler stand, and ₹2,250 in cash, which was taken from the victim. The police are continuing their investigation and legal proceedings in this case.
