In a recent incident from West Champaran district, a man faced legal consequences for making offensive and inappropriate remarks against the Chief Minister on social media, which threatened to disturb communal harmony.
The incident took place in the Shikarpur police station area during the immersion ceremony of the Saraswati Puja idol. Police received information about a video rapidly circulating on social media that contained disrespectful and unparliamentary language targeting the Bihar Chief Minister. The video, shared via a Facebook account, raised concerns about potential disruption in the peaceful atmosphere of the region.
Upon receiving the complaint, the police acted swiftly. Based on a written report by Police Sub-Inspector Sonu Kumar, a case was registered at the Shikarpur police station. During the investigation, it was revealed that the video was deliberately uploaded and shared by Raju Kumar, a resident of Ward No. 11, Siswa village.
A police official confirmed that the Shikarpur police promptly arrested the accused, Raju Kumar. Interrogations are underway to understand the motive behind the act. Authorities have issued a clear warning that any individual attempting to hurt religious sentiments or disturb social harmony will face strict action.
