
Lucknow, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant administrative shake-up, the Lucknow Police Commissioner, Tarun Gaba, announced the transfer of five Assistant Police Commissioners (ACPs) late on October 3. This move is aimed at enhancing law enforcement effectiveness within the city.
Laxman Verma has been appointed as the new ACP for Krishna Nagar, taking over from his previous role as ACP, Lucknow. His transfer is expected to bolster law and order in the Krishna Nagar circle.
Abhishek Kumar Pandey has moved from ACP Krishna Nagar to become the ACP for Kaiserbagh, a densely populated and sensitive area in Old Lucknow, which poses considerable challenges related to traffic and security management.
Navratna Gautam, who previously served as ACP Kaiserbagh, has now been assigned to the Traffic Department. With the festive season approaching, maintaining smooth traffic flow is crucial, and his experience is deemed vital for this role.
Mahesh Tyagi has transitioned from ACP Traffic to the pivotal position of ACP Law and Order in Lucknow, a post considered one of the most critical within the commissionerate.
Anup Kumar has been given dual responsibilities as ACP Traffic and additional charge of UP-112, having previously only managed the UP-112 unit.
According to sources within the police commissionerate, this reshuffle is part of routine administrative procedures designed to provide new experiences to field officers and expedite operations. The focus remains on crime control, traffic improvement, and enhancing response times for UP-112 in Lucknow.
All officers involved have been instructed to assume their new roles immediately.
