Major League Cricket 2026: Nandre Burger Withdraws, TSK Signs Dyan Forster

New Delhi, June 24: South African left-arm fast bowler Nandre Burger has withdrawn from Major League Cricket 2026 (MLC 2026). Burger plays for the Texas Super Kings (TSK) in the league.

Burger’s exit is due to a pre-existing stress reaction in his back. He participated in two matches this season for TSK, taking one wicket in six overs of bowling.

In a statement released by TSK, it was revealed that recent scans indicated the stress reaction in his back, necessitating a prolonged period of rest and rehabilitation away from MLC.

This injury is a concern not only for TSK but also for the South African cricket team, which is set to host Australia. The series, scheduled for September-October, will feature three ODIs and three Test matches.

Before joining MLC, Nandre Burger played for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL, where he significantly contributed to the team’s playoff qualification. In the IPL, he took 14 wickets in 13 matches for RR.

In his international career, Burger has claimed 14 wickets in three Test matches, 22 in 14 ODIs, and six in eight T20Is. Overall, he has taken 112 wickets in 103 T20 matches.

As Burger’s replacement, the Texas Super Kings have signed Dyan Forster from South Africa. Forster is a familiar face within the Super Kings setup, boasting experience with the Joburg Super Kings in SA20 and the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.
