Major Drug and Extortion Network Busted from Delhi to Gujarat; Heroin Worth ₹12 Crores Seized

New Delhi, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : Delhi police‘s Special Cell has made significant strides in dismantling a narco-extortion network that spanned from Delhi to Gujarat. In a joint operation with the Gujarat Crime Branch, authorities seized two kilograms of heroin, reportedly of Pakistani origin, valued at approximately ₹12 crores.

One suspect, identified as 31-year-old Kuldeep Swami from Churu, Rajasthan, was arrested during the operation. Police stated that Swami was a key member of a large narco-extortion module and was wanted in a high-profile extortion case in Vadodara, Gujarat, involving around ₹10 crores.

During the investigation, officers recovered two kilograms of high-quality heroin, a Maruti Swift Dzire car, and a currency note used for hawala token verification from Swami’s possession. Notably, the seized vehicle contained a secret cavity designed for drug smuggling.

Authorities are now conducting a thorough investigation into the network’s operations. They are examining links between this gang and notorious gangsters Rohit Godara and Mahendra Delana, as well as potential connections to narcotics trafficking from Pakistan.

Police suspect that the gang was funding extortion and other criminal activities through money generated from drug trafficking. Interrogations with the arrested suspect are ongoing, and efforts are underway to locate his accomplices.
