Husband Attacks Wife with Deadly Weapons in Bengaluru, Arrested

Bengaluru, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, a nurse named Madhumita was brutally attacked by her husband, Venkatesh, using deadly weapons. The attack occurred near Narayana Hospital, where Madhumita works, leaving her in critical condition and currently receiving treatment in the ICU of a private hospital.

According to police reports, Venkatesh tracked Madhumita down on Thursday, throwing a liquid resembling acid at her before launching a violent assault with weapons, striking her more than ten times in public view.

The couple’s relationship began through a dating app, leading to their marriage in 2024 before relocating to Bengaluru. However, Madhumita reportedly distanced herself from Venkatesh over the past six months. Following Venkatesh’s job placement at an oil company in Chennai, he frequently urged her to join him, but she refused.

Madhumita had previously expressed her desire for Venkatesh to stop contacting her, stating that she had begun to dislike him. Their communication had deteriorated to the point where she ignored his calls, leading to frequent arguments.

About six months ago, Venkatesh confronted Madhumita at her workplace, resulting in a heated argument that required intervention from clinic staff. Following this incident, Madhumita filed a complaint at a local police station, prompting authorities to contact Venkatesh for questioning.

Despite being summoned, Venkatesh failed to appear and continued to threaten Madhumita over the phone. On the day of the attack, he arrived at the hospital with both the acid-like liquid and lethal weapons, waiting for her arrival. Upon her appearance, he pursued her and carried out the vicious assault.

Police apprehended Venkatesh, and he has been placed in judicial custody while investigations into the attack and its circumstances continue. DCP South, Dr. Vamshi Krishna, stated that Venkatesh wore a helmet during the attack and used both a sickle and a long knife, indicating that the incident stemmed from domestic disputes.
