Patna, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : Bihar’s former Chief Minister and JD(U) national president, Nitish Kumar, inaugurated a one-day training program for party legislators and council members on Friday at the Karpoori Hall in Patna. The initiative aims to familiarize elected representatives with their legislative responsibilities and the workings of the state legislature.
During the opening session, Bihar’s Health Minister Nishant Kumar joined Nitish Kumar on stage. The event saw participation from several senior leaders, including JD(U) national executive president Sanjay Kumar Jha, state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Ashok Chaudhary, Sanjay Gandhi, and Minister Shrawan Kumar.
Experts conducted sessions on parliamentary processes throughout the day. Legislators received training on legislative duties, house proceedings, raising issues related to their constituencies, the law-making process, recent legislative changes, and key aspects of the state budget and Bihar’s economy.
Notably absent from the training was Anant Singh, the MLA from Mokama. His absence drew attention, especially since attendance was reportedly mandatory for all JD(U) legislators and council members. Speculation arose linking his non-attendance to his stance in the upcoming MLC elections.
JD(U) legislator and cabinet minister Jama Khan emphasized that such meetings are a regular part of organizational processes and should not be viewed politically. Commenting on Anant Singh’s absence, Khan dismissed rumors of discord within the party, asserting that senior leaders provide guidance on various matters. He also supported suggestions for giving Nishant Kumar a larger leadership role, calling it a “completely correct” proposal.
As political activities intensify ahead of upcoming elections in Bihar, this gathering of JD(U) legislators in Patna has sparked considerable discussion.
