Jammu, May 23: The Jammu police, in collaboration with the district administration, executed a significant operation against drug trafficking, demolishing properties worth millions owned by a notorious drug trafficker in the Miran Sahib area.
This action is perceived as a strong message against drug mafias. Officials have made it clear that similar operations will continue against individuals involved in drug trafficking.
According to reports, the Jammu headquarters zone police, with the support of the district administration, demolished three properties valued at approximately 4 crores owned by Navjot Singh, also known as Bablu, a resident of Indira Nagar in Miran Sahib.
The police stated that these properties were purchased with money acquired through illegal drug trafficking. The aim of this operation was to cripple the financial backbone of the drug trade network and effectively target the active drug syndicates in the region.
Police officials revealed that Navjot Singh is a habitual offender with a total of 15 FIRs registered against him under various sections, including the NDPS Act. He has been involved in drug trafficking for an extended period. Investigations revealed that the accused had amassed several properties through illegal earnings, prompting the administration to take action to demolish them.
This campaign was conducted under the joint supervision of the police and administration. Key officials, including the SP headquarters, SDPO RS Pura, the station in charge of Miran Sahib, SDM RS Pura, and the local tehsildar, were present at the scene. The entire operation was carried out peacefully with adequate security measures, and no untoward incidents were reported.
Local residents supported the administration’s actions and praised the steps taken against drug trafficking. The community hopes that the administration will continue its campaign against such elements.
The Jammu police issued a statement affirming that their ‘zero tolerance’ policy against drug trafficking will remain in effect. They warned that strict legal action will be taken against those involved in the drug trade. Officials emphasized their commitment to protecting the youth from drugs and ensuring community safety through all possible measures.
