Major Breakthrough for Punjab Police: Main Shooter Arrested in Punjab University Shooting

Chandigarh, March 26: Punjab Police have successfully apprehended the main shooter involved in the shooting incident at Punjab University in Chandigarh. This operation was a collaborative effort between the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab and Chandigarh Police.

Punjab’s Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav announced this significant achievement on the social media platform ‘X’. He stated that the shooter, identified as Jaspreet Singh, also known as Jas, was arrested on March 26 following a brief encounter with the police on the Amloh-Patran road. The suspect sustained injuries during the encounter and was promptly taken to the hospital.

DGP Yadav revealed that initial investigations indicate the attack was orchestrated at the behest of the Doney Ball/Bambiha gang. The police are now conducting further inquiries to identify other suspects and unravel the entire conspiracy related to the case.

In his post, DGP Yadav emphasized, “The Anti-Gangster Task Force Punjab, in collaboration with Chandigarh Police, has achieved a major success. We are fully committed to curbing the gangster network and ensuring safety and security across Punjab.”

The shooting incident at Punjab University had sent shockwaves throughout the region. Following the attack on student leader Jaspreet Singh, the police took immediate action, coordinating efforts with Chandigarh Police.

The AGTF has been actively working for several months to prevent gang wars and targeted killings in Punjab. Recently, law enforcement has arrested numerous gangsters and their associates.

The police have clarified that the search for other suspects involved in this case is ongoing, and they expect to make further arrests soon. This campaign by Punjab Police is viewed as a crucial step towards dismantling the gangster network entirely.
