Hyderabad, March 31: The Telangana Assembly unanimously passed a resolution on Monday, urging the central government to take initiatives to halt the ongoing war in the Middle East.
The resolution warned that if the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran continues, it could lead to a third world war, posing a severe threat to humanity’s existence.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka presented the resolution, which was passed by voice vote. The proposal stated that the ongoing war in West Asia is taking various forms and destabilizing the global economy.
It emphasized, “We all know that crude oil (petrol, diesel, gas) significantly affects the economic conditions of every country. The impact of this war on crude oil production and transportation is disrupting supply chains. The United States and Israel are attacking Iran and Lebanon, while Iran is targeting U.S. defense bases located in Gulf and Middle Eastern countries. Advanced weapons such as fighter jets, ballistic missiles, and drones are being used in these attacks, resulting in the loss of nearly 4,000 innocent lives.”
The resolution further noted, “Along with these deaths, there is significant economic devastation. While the loss of life and property may be confined to the affected countries, the economic fallout impacts the entire world. This has become particularly dangerous for Asian countries, with India also facing severe repercussions.”
It concluded by stating that if this war is not stopped, the future of the world will be extremely concerning. If left unchecked, it could escalate into a third world war, posing a grave threat to humanity’s survival. In light of these dire consequences, the assembly urges the Indian government to take action to end this war and work towards establishing global peace.
