Major Arms Smuggling Operation Uncovered in Amritsar, Manhunt for Suspects Underway

Amritsar, March 29: The Amritsar police have successfully seized a cache of illegal firearms during a recent blockade. The Punjab police are now actively searching for the suspects involved in this operation.

Punjab Police Chief Gaurav Yadav (IPS) announced on his official social media account that the Amritsar Commissionerate police intercepted the illegal arms, recovering two 9MM submachine guns and an empty magazine.

Initial investigations reveal that this shipment is linked to gangster Gurpreet Singh, also known as Goldy Dhillon, and was intended for use in criminal and anti-national activities across Punjab.

An FIR has been registered under the Arms Act at the Cheherhta police station in Amritsar. Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify the fleeing suspects and dismantle the entire network.

The police emphasize that their goal is not only to apprehend the suspects but also to dismantle the entire operation. Under its zero-tolerance policy, the Punjab police are committed to taking action against illegal firearms, organized crime, and anti-national activities to ensure the safety of citizens in Punjab.

Just days earlier, the Amritsar Counter Intelligence team achieved a significant breakthrough by uncovering a module involved in smuggling arms across the border. They arrested two suspects and seized ten foreign pistols along with several magazines.

These suspects were reportedly working at the behest of foreign gangsters and were collaborating with smugglers based in Pakistan to illegally bring weapons into India. The aim was to distribute these arms among criminal elements in Punjab.
